Lesson 9~ Noah~ the man whose faith and obedience saved animal & mankind

Genesis 6-9:19

Noah was the son of Lamech and was the 10th generation of mankind. Noah had been blessed to have been born into a family who followed God. You see, that Noah's Grandfather was Methuselah and his great-grandfather was Enoch who was said to be a man who walked with God(Gen. 5:1-28). When Noah was born, his Father prophesied that he "would comfort us from our pain from our work. The pain is because God has cursed the ground"  (Gen. 5:28). God had done so because mankind had become evil. So evil that God was sorry that he had made the earth & mankind. So he had planned to destroy all of it. But Noah pleased God for like his great-grandfather he walked with God. God did not want to destroy Noah so he told Noah  of His plan to destroy the world with a flood. God also gave Noah the blueprints of a boat that Noah was to build for himself, his wife, his three sons, their wives and animals that would protect them during the flood.

Because of Noah obeyed and built that boat. When he was done building the boat, God told him to take his family and animals onto the boat. Noah obeyed. When Noah was done doing that, God closed and sealed the boat, and it started to rain. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights which flooded the whole earth. A year later, when the land had dried up, God told him to leave the boat.Again, Noah obeyed and every living thing & person who was on the boat came out of it onto the earth.

Noah was so thankful to God for saving them that he built an altar to worship and thank Him. God was so pleased with what Noah did that made a promise to all living things and people that He would never totally destroy the earth with a flood. To remind all of this promise, God put a rainbow in the sky. So now when it rains, we will see God's promise sealed with a rainbow.

Because of Noah's faith and obedience in God, he saved the parents of all the living things on the earth, which is why we still have a beautiful world full of animals, birds, bugs, and humans. God blessed him by  making him Father of all humans who are now on earth (Gen. 6-9:29).
