Luke 2:41-52

The boy Jesus in the temple at the age of 12

When Jesus was 12 years old he went to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of the Passover with his family. When the celebration was over, Jesus' Mother and Joseph started home with the family or friends, thinking that Jesus was among them. They were not aware of the fact that Jesus had stayed behind in the temple in Jerusalem. They had traveled a day's journey when they figured out that he was not with them. When they did figure out that he was not with them, Mary and Joseph went back to Jerusalem looked all over for him. After looking three days for Jesus, they found him in the temple talking to the leaders there.The leaders were very impressed with how wise Jesus' questions and answers were.

When they found Jesus, his Mother, Mary yelled at him saying," We were so worried about you! Why did you stay behind?"

Jesus replied, " Why did you worry? You should have known that I would be here doing my Father's business." But Jesus parents did not understand that he was talking about doing God the Father's business.
But since they did not understand, Jesus went home to Nazareth where he always obeyed his parents until he was an adult.

But his mother, Mary kept all of this in her memory.
