lesson 14~ isaac and Rebekah are blessed with twin sons

Genesis 25:1-28

Rebekah couldn't have children, so Isaac prayed and asked God to give them children. God answered Issac's prayer and Rebekah became pregnant with twin boy babies. the babies fought each other while she was still pregnant with them. Rebekah asked God why this pregnancy was so painful. God told her that there were two boys in her that would be over two countries when they grew up. God also told her that the oldest would serve the younger. This was a surprise as the culture of their people had it where the oldest had the bigger honor and the younger one would normally serve the older.

The day finally came when the babies would be born. The oldest baby boy was covered in red hair. They named him Esau. The youngest they named Jacob. Isaac was forty years old when they were born.

The boys grew up. Esau grew up to be a real good hunter and farmer who grew crops. he was his Father, Isaac's favorite. Jacob was his Mother, Rebekah's favorite for he choice to stay close to home in the tents.
